As a Graduation student at ORTEC you will be part of a unique organization and team!
There is a lot going on in the landscape of analytics and supply chain optimization. From the data and analytics perspective Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, and Big Data are hot topics. Data mining, statistics and machine learning techniques seem more popular and useful than ever.
From the supply chain perspective there are also important developments. The rise of social media has made customers better informed and more demanding than ever. Markets seem to be volatile, and business strategies frequently change. As a result, supply chains must be agile, and supply chain strategies must be aligned to contribute maximal business value.
And although many people are convinced of the seemingly endless possibilities that analytics offer to improve decision making, it is not so clear what added value it all brings. To explore the opportunities, ORTEC has started a research program:
Data science to boost Supply Chain Optimization
In each of the projects within the program a certain supply chain optimization theme is studied. In general, the following research questions are then addressed:
This research program brings lots of actual topics together. Interesting themes for the program include new business models like omnichannel or the sharing economy, Internet of Things and Supply Chain Optimization, Integrated business planning: demand sensing and shaping and Multi-echelon inventory management.
As part of the program, ORTEC participates in the DATA2MOVE community.
