As a Business & Analytics Consultant at ORTEC Data Science & Consulting (ODSC) you will be part of a unique organization and team! In the role of Business & Analytics Consultant, you will continuously engage with customers to fully understand their business challenges and support them in the best possible and tailored way. Starting from a business challenge for improvement, you will analyze the challenge and its root causes in detail, by attending stakeholder interviews & workshops.

As it is ORTEC’s passion to improve the world using mathematics, a big part of your job will be to guide our customers in the world of data & mathematics and to translate their business needs into functional requirements. You will be the bridge between the customer and the rest of the project team, consisting of colleagues with different expertise’s like Data Science, Operations Research, or IT. This involves aligning with stakeholders, analyzing processes, and applying data treatment and analytics to identify the potential for improvement.

We are looking for a Junior Business & Analytics Consultant to contribute to our long-lasting relationships with our customers. We are experienced in areas such as: Operations and Supply Chain Analytics (i.e. network design, routing simulation/optimization), Demand forecast and asset management, HR & Customer Analytics (i.e. workforce forecasting), in French markets like Retail, Energy, Transport, Post and Parcel and Manufacturing. This has led to valued partnerships with parties such as Lactalis Group, Carrefour, TotalEnergies, UGI Antargaz, Primagaz, Air Liquide, Veolia and many more.

Who you are

As a Business & Analytics consultant, you are an ambitious professional who is challenged by working in a unique rapidly changing environment, for multiple clients in multiple sectors, and on a project basis. You are business oriented and therefore like to align with the customer on business processes and opportunities to improve them. You ask valid questions in order to identify the real drivers for optimization and make sure your ideas match with customer expectations.

Furthermore, you are/have:

• A relevant Master’s degree for this position
• A first professional experience in areas such as business consultancy, business analysis, process optimization, data analytics or other quantitative business-oriented roles.
• Able to translate business opportunities and your ideas into solutions based on data analytics, machine learning or optimization
• An entrepreneurial mindset, focused on getting things done
• Someone who takes ownership of the project and feels responsible for reaching the overall goal of the project, together with the project manager
• Strong communicator, self-starter and motivated by client focus, contact and interaction.
• Curious, flexible and able to quickly come to the essence of a problem or a situation
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to fluently communicate in French and English.
• Ability to work in a team, and at the location of client
• Someone who is motivated by international contacts, as your clients and colleagues will come from the entire European area
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
• Affinity with technologies like SQL, R, Python, Spotfire, PowerBI, etc. is a clear plus
