The role of Operations Research Engineer includes a unique combination of mathematics and software engineering, and has interaction with customers to figure out what the problem is, translating it to requirements and implementing a solution. Because we deliver tailor made solutions, you will face many different types of technical issues. You often work on a couple of projects at the same time, giving a lot of variation and ample learning opportunities. For each project you work in small teams consisting of architects, testers and engineers. You help fixing bugs, carry out maintenance activities, implement our algorithmic ideas, and you think about improvements of the algorithms in the software solutions.
Your team of about 5 people, and ORTEC as a whole for that matter, are very talented people who like to work together, help each other out, while really making a difference to our customers. You work on real-life problems of our customers, such as business critical processes that influence thousands of commuting and travelling people every single day.

As an Operations Research Engineer you have 3-5 years of relevant working experience and you have with a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Operations Research (OR), (Business) Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, or other relevant studies.
