ORTEC launches Big Data Portal in Cooperation with Microsoft

ORTEC Consulting is specialized in Analytics, and recently officially launched their Big Data Portal, a cutting edge portal for Analytics as a Service. The portal combines data storage, processing, analysis and advanced visualization in a user-friendly interface. It runs on Microsoft’s Azure cloud, so companies of all sizes can enjoy the benefits of highly reliable and scalable computing.
Driving digital transformations
Several businesses and academic institutions are already using ORTEC’s Big Data Portal to implement new analytics initiatives. Launching customers include Mooy Logistics, a leading retailer in The Netherlands and a world leading industrial services provider. Caroline Phillips, Director of Developer Experience & Entrepreneurship at Microsoft Netherlands: “Our mission at Microsoft is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. In that light we’re delighted that the ORTEC Big Data Portal trusts on Microsoft Azure technology. We believe that partners like ORTEC help organizations to drive their digital transformation.”
Patrick Hennen, Managing Director Analytics and Technology at ORTEC Consulting: “With the ORTEC Big Data Portal, any company can become data-driven. We make analytics available without high IT costs and vendor lock-in. Why struggle with finding the best tooling or building the right technology infrastructure when your business is only interested in improved, data-driven decisions making?”

Pioneering Analytics as a Service
With ORTEC’s Big Data Portal, any business can start leveraging their data without large investments, tedious technical implementations or specialized personnel. Just like Software as a Service, Analytics as a Service lets companies focus on actionable insights and output rather than IT. It reduces Big Data to something every company can do.
ORTEC’s cooperation with Microsoft puts the benefits of Azure’s state-of-the-art cloud computing infrastructure within reach of the many. The Portal makes use of Microsoft Azure Machine Learning for predictive analytics and forecasting. It uses Azure’s Logic apps to connect with a wide range of data suppliers and processors, and leverages Microsoft’s Data Factory and Stream Analytics to ingest and process large quantities of data in real time. Companies using the Portal can work with the advanced analytics tools and databases of their choice – from AIMMS and Spark to Hadoop, Spotfire and “R”. An Excel integration can also be implemented with a single mouse click.
